Synopsis of the role At Equifax, the Summer 2025 Information Security a 15-week co-op program, is a gateway to full-time career paths for current university students who are currently pursuing their Bachelor’s Degree. The program provides meaningful projects with direct impact on our business as well as exposure to senior leaders and opportunities to network. This Information Security Analyst Co-op is responsible for coordinating in support of the local security team and global relationships with IT, Legal and the business as a whole with regard to policies, standards, procedures and the advancement of the security posture and maturity as a whole as well as enabling built in security with applications and products supporting Equifax Canada’s business. As part of the Canadian Information Security Team, you assist in improving the information security posture with respect to delivering services to customers and consumers within Canada for understanding the key assets and processes. The 15 week co-op program runs from May 6th, 2025 to August 22nd, 2025. Co ops are required to follow our hybrid onsite policy of Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday- onsite for the duration of the 15 - week program. Monday and Friday are remote work days. Co ops must be local to the Toronto/ Montreal area and have the ability to commute to our office in Toronto / Montreal based on where the role is. What you’ll do Assist in improving the security posture and tracking the vulnerability management program. Support management of the security exception, risk assessment, new development security assessment and similar security related processes. Provide support to the Information Security Officer responsibilities responsible for technology and corporate development which may include metrics, reporting, and identification of risk. Support evidence collection with regards to various security compliance frameworks including NIST, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, and SOC assessments. Collaborate with multiple departments and cross functional teams including, but not limited to, technology, marketing, product development, sales, and data & analytics. Assist with analysis of security control mapping and validation and compliance efficiency improvements. Collaborate with Security Awareness activities, presenting the security program to employees and new hires. Provide counsel and support to employees about Security Policies implementation. What experience you need Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Cybersecurity, Business or equivalent work experience. Good understanding of technical security controls and secure coding standards. Good understanding of application security and cloud security controls (GCP and AWS). Security Training and Awareness, Security Governance, and Security Incident Management knowledge & experience. Knowledge and experience of Information Security Risk and Security governance and understanding of risks in the banking/ financial services sector will be an added advantage.
