Are you someone with a hands-on approach and a sharp eye for detail? We're seeking a full-time Estimator to join our team at the Innisfail Home Centre.
Position: Estimator
Full-time: 40 hours per week. Eligible for benefits after 3 months. If you are relocating from another province, please ensure you have AB Health coverage to be covered by our plan provider.
Availability: Weekdays and weekends- mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
Responsibilities:
Analyze construction plans, blueprints, or computer aided drawings to estimate building material requirements for customers. Offer suggestions for plan adjustments to ensure compliance with building codes and enhance structural integrity and efficiency.
Assist in the tendering process by providing detailed quantity assessments, cost estimations, and project descriptions. Recommend products to enhance design quality and structural integrity.
Create and manage a Vendor Reference Database to track material-specific information such as product availability, unit cost, and lead times. Research alternative vendors for specialty items.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including contractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, vendors, and industry associations. Stay updated on industry trends.
Conduct site visits and engage in outside sales activities to support project execution and client relations.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications:
3 - 6 years of relevant experience
Valid Driver's Licence required; must provide an acceptable driver's abstract upon hire
Certificate and/or Diploma with a preference for Building/Architectural Science or Construction Management are an asset.
Certified Architectural & Building Technologist (ABTAM) and/or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation(s) are an asset.
