SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Administer and audit biweekly payroll process for multiple provinces, including Quebec, calculate and process payroll adjustments entries for new hires, terminations, STDs, and retroactive pay, etc.
Process and audit employee profile and status changes in ADP WFN payroll system, such as new hires, terminations, LOA, benefits & RRSP deductions, as well as garnishments, etc.
Administer and process employee benefits and RRSP applications, set up or changes in both payroll and benefits systems, answer employees’ inquiries related to their benefits and RRSP
Review and audit the timecards during the biweekly payroll process and make sure that the overtime is approved by the managers and the timecards exceptions are resolved
Process and audit biweekly and monthly Benefits & RRSP-related remittances, as well as GLI Journal entries and reconciliations
Analyze and resolve payroll and time off-related discrepancies and be able to answer employees' inquiries about their timecards, vacation, and sick time off balances, etc.
Ensure compliance with federal & local payroll & benefits laws and regulations.
Conduct the year-end validation process, Tax forms testing, validations, and balancing
Assist in documenting the Payroll & Benefits Process Manuals and ensure the Manuals are updated and well-maintained.
Preparation and distribution of payroll reports accurately and partner with business leaders to understand specific reporting needs
Maintain and file the payroll & benefit source documents or records accurately on the SharePoint folders
Team vacations coverage including US payroll
Focal for Human Resources related issues and/or projects
Other projects, as assigned by Director of Payroll
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
PCP Certification, National Payroll Institute.
Bachelor’s degree in business or finance.
A minimum of 5+ years of experience with primary responsibility for Payroll & Benefits administration and processing for multiple provinces, including Quebec.
Experience working with ADP WFN and ADP Time & Attendance System is preferred.
Sound knowledge of payroll and general accounting practices and principles.
Working knowledge of Federal employment laws relating to payroll.
Experience with US Payroll Process and administration.
Ability to exercise tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
Strong computer skills; advanced knowledge of MS Office, such as Word and Excel, and ability to learn new programs/systems quickly.
Detail oriented and able to work to tight timelines.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well with employees at various levels of the organization.
