The District Manager is directly responsible for the whole goods sale of Komatsu product to the distributor network. The DM manages one of Canada’s largest distributors in a geographic area covering multiple provinces in western Canada in all aspects regarding manufacturer support. Responsible for market share growth, business planning, forecasting and sales execution. Other business practices include project-based initiatives and both retail & wholesale program advancement. Main objective is to provide distribution and end-use customers with the equipment and technology required for their respective businesses, while focusing on growth and profitability for all stakeholders.

Responsible for the continued growth and development of construction, mining and national or regional account customers, building strong relationships for the achievement of increased sales and profitability
Required to manage budgets supporting funds and special programs to execute sales to end-use customers
Assists the distributor in navigating all Komatsu departments for support and general information. This dynamic role extends beyond singular responsibilities
Fulfill requests for product and application knowledge to support segment sales
Promote all initiatives of the company regarding aftermarket, finance, technology, and digital product offerings
Serve as consultant to both internal and external stakeholders for market awareness, industry trends, and best practices sharing
Manages monthly travel expenses derived from supporting customers and distributors
Qualifications
College and/or university degree with advanced formal education and mechanical/technical aptitude preferred
Extended relevant work experience in the heavy equipment industry required
Construction industry work experience, preferably with a full-line manufacturer or distributor
Proven ability in customer relations, sales process management, territory management, and marketing program development
Analytical/statistical capacity for reviewing sales trends and inventory performance
Basic financial acumen required- to understand ratios, ROI, P&L statements, etc.
Proven track record to negotiate and influence internal and external stakeholders
Computer skills including Microsoft Office, Power BI, SAP, and Salesforce
Komatsu product knowledge on machine configurations and applications considered an asset
