As the editorial team lead, you will manage and execute Best Buy Canada’s long-form content strategy for the blog. In this role, you’ll oversee the end-to-end editorial process in collaboration with internal teams and external writers, ensuring content is high-quality, SEO-informed, and aligned with business goals. The successful candidate must be based in the greater Vancouver, BC area. We follow a remote-first model, using in-person meetings for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes. What you’ll do: Manage the editorial calendar, collaborating with business teams to plan content Ensure content is optimized for key marketing funnel stages: awareness, consideration, purchase, and post-purchase Educate stakeholders on editorial processes, timelines and submission guidelines Assess and onboard new writers as needed Coach and facilitate the Blog Editors’ Community of Practice (CoP) to promote consistency and skills development Review draft articles prior to publication, provide clear and constructive editorial feedback Establish and evolve a peer-review process to ensure adherence to the editorial style guide and maintain content quality Partner with SEO specialists and business stakeholders to develop blog content that aligns with business objectives and marketing campaigns Review and refine SEO briefs and assess content outlines to ensure they incorporate keyword strategy, search intent, and structural SEO elements—while also being well-suited for GenAI-assisted article generation Collaborate with video and social media teams to identify opportunities for integrating multimedia content into the blog Serve as the point of contact for WordPress functionality and plugin requirements Work with the tech developer to audit, archive or purge outdated content and improve the overall site architecture and content hierarchy Monitor blog performance using Adobe Analytics and provide actionable insights Prepare and deliver a monthly business review highlighting key metrics, content impact, and recommendations What we’re looking for: 5+ years of experience in content creation, editorial leadership, or digital publishing Proven expertise in editorial planning, copy editing, and long-form content creation Strong understanding of SEO best practices and ability to work cross-functionally with SEO specialists Experience working with or managing external writers and freelancer Proven experience managing content within content management systems like WordPress.
