We are seeking a Junior Structural Engineer to join our growing team in Toronto. In this role, you’ll be an integral part of our structural engineering team, contributing to impactful projects across a variety of sectors—including healthcare, institutional, residential, cultural, and recreational buildings.
You will work alongside experienced engineers, technologists, and technical specialists, gaining hands-on experience in structural design, technical documentation, and construction support. What will you do?
Perform structural analysis and calculations for building components, including foundations, slabs, beams, columns, and lateral systems.
Assist in developing framing schemes and structural systems in collaboration with senior engineers.
Work with a variety of materials including concrete, steel, masonry and wood.
Contribute to the preparation and coordination of engineering drawings and specifications in collaboration with BIM technologists and project consultants.
Support design coordination by reviewing architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
Participate in site visits and construction field reviews under the guidance of senior staff.
Assist with the development of reports, technical memos, and project correspondence.
What do you need to succeed?
A Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
Interest in building design and a desire to learn through hands-on project experience.
Familiarity with structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, SAFE, RAM) and design tools such as Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Knowledge or interest in sustainable design and embodied carbon is considered an asset.
Previous co-op or internship experience in building design is an asset but not required.
