About the Role
Operate various thin film coating chambers and measuring equipment. Perform final preparation, loading & inspection of complicated optical elements.
TASKS TO BE ACCOMPLISHED
Cleaning / sandblasting of coating system parts and tooling
Maintenance of ancillary equipment – sandblaster, central vacuum system, humidity test chamber
Organization of tooling on shelves and in cabinets
Basic preparation, setup and loading of coating system chambers
Maintain stock of lab supplies in coating room
Clerical duties involved with the movement of product through production
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Ability to manually handle delicate optic parts thus ensuring quality and integrity of product
Mechanical and electrical aptitude
Ability to work and communicate well with others
Ability to comprehend and follow detailed instructions
Ability to read and interpret drawings
Good verbal and written command of the English language
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Post secondary diploma in Photonics or Physical Sciences
Work experience in a lab environment would be a definite asset
