To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What You’ll Be Doing As an Intermediate z/OS System Programmer you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, testing for an number of IBM & OEM software products assigned to you. You are responsible for coordinating software implementation plans, upgrades, testing exercises with the Sr Systems programmers on the team. Additionally, you will ensure all software products are configured for optimized performance within a z/OS Parallel Sysplex operating systems environment. In this role you will adhere to CIBC compliance standards & established controls, standards, policies, and procedures. You will collaborate with other members of the mainframe engineering software team to review and define product maintenance schedules, roadmaps and release upgrades. You will participate in annual disaster recovery testing exercises and provide software support for problem identification & resolution exercises for your assigned OEM software products. How You’ll Succeed Strategic Planning – Lead the development of strategic plans with assistance from the Sr. z/OS Systems programmers for IBM & OEM Software installations and planned upgrades, ensuring alignment with business goals and long-term growth. Design, implement and monitor OEM software performance, operational efficiency to support our business outcomes. Reporting & Analysis – Prepare & present reports and dashboards for leadership, providing insights into process, trends and risks. Collaborate with cross functional engineering and Operations teams to gather input, ensure data accuracy and drive execution of strategic initiatives. Manage and optimize infrastructure projects plans, timelines and resource allocation. Communication - Clear and effective communication has always stood at the forefront of successful engagements. Establish a highly collaborative environment, promote engagement. Understand the value of maintaining well-organized information and open communication at all levels. Who You Are You can demonstrate 5 years experience in: z/OS systems programming with focus on IBM & OEM Software (e.g., BMC , Broadcom, IBM , SAS etc . ) Review & Apply PTF's / APAR fixes for known issues, vulnerabilities to ensure software products are secure, resilient @ vendor supported levels.Working knowledge of IBM Tools ( IPCS , SMP/E , WLM, ISPF, ICKDSF, RACF, JES/2, OMEGAMON, MAINVIEW ) and other relevant tools. Proficiency with scripting languages (JCL, REXX and CLIST ) an asset. Working knowledge of Assembler or Cobol programing an asset. You are an Excellent Communicator.
