The Roll-Off Driver will be responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously providing waste removal services to customers across multiple lines of businesses. The CDL Driver will collect waste from customer sites and transport to post-collection facilities for proper disposal. Key Responsibilities: Operate roll-off truck and related equipment to collect waste. Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections, daily truck reports, route sheets, and other required documentation as directed by the supervisor. Communicate vehicle mechanical issues to the mechanic and supervisor immediately. Maintain route quality standards as set by management. Operate truck and equipment using prescribed techniques to prevent driver-induced mechanical failures. Adhere to safety standards, equipment checks, and precautions in performing all duties, ensuring compliance with federal, state/provincial, local, and company regulations, as well as customer-specific requirements. Report potential hazards associated with container servicing and collection to the Supervisor/Lead prior to completing the task. Keep vehicle clean by washing the cab interior and exterior regularly. Report all accidents or incidents to supervisors immediately. Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times, particularly when interacting with customers or the public. Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, reflective vest, safety glasses, and work boots, at all times. Accurately maintain records of services performed. Collaborate with supervisor to improve routing efficiencies. Attend safety and branch meetings as required. Work overtime as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Requirements: High school diploma or GED preferred. Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Minimum of one (1) year of commercial driving experience or completion of a CDL school program. Must meet company safety standards for safety-sensitive functions. Demonstrated ability to safely operate a truck and related equipment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficient in operating the necessary vehicles and equipment for the role. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations as needed for the job. Capable of writing simple reports and completing required documentation (pre- and post-trip inspections, accident reports, daily paperwork, etc.). Ability to read and comprehend simple correspondence, company policies, and instructions. Strong reasoning skills to follow instructions, solve general problems, and carry out tasks with minimal supervision. Physical and Mental Demands: Ability to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, balance, and smell. Visual requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus due to vehicle maneuvering in tight and high-traffic areas. Ability to regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds. Sitting is required for up to 75% of the time while driving. Ability to work in typically loud conditions. Working Conditions: Exposure to loud noise, humidity, stormy weather, extreme temperatures, moving mechanical parts, vibration, toxic chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles. Work is predominantly performed outdoors (up to 100% of the time). Continuous route driving away from the branch location. Occasional work in high, precarious places.
