Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor, the QC Laboratory Technician is responsible for the analysis of raw materials and finished products, HACCP monitoring and providing support to the Packaging Department. Status: Temporary Contract (Approx. 18 months) Schedule: Must be available for days, nights, and weekends Salary: $29.25/hr There are 2 salary increases in the first year of employment, with a target rate of $32.50/hour. How you will make contributions that matter: Perform compositional and Microbiological testing and analysis on raw materials and finished products Grading of finished products based on documented physical, organoleptic, chemical and microbiological quality parameters Conducts in-process inspection and quality check while ensuring GMP compliance Collects samples and performs microbiological tests to verify water quality and sanitation programs Assists in the detection, analysis and resolution of quality concerns Maintains complete and accurate documentation for the HACCP quality program Provides support and timely feedback to internal departments Ensures cleanliness and housekeeping standards are maintained including the mechanical condition of Laboratory equipment Other responsibilities as assigned You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications: Minimum (1) year of Quality Control or Laboratory experience related to food processing or consumer packaged goods is preferred Post-secondary education in Food Science, Microbiology or related Technical discipline is a prerequisite Training or practical experience with HACCP and GMPs is preferred Team oriented with strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills Capable of working independently with minimal supervision to cover rotating shifts including weekends/night Proficient and dependable in current position We support and care for our employees and their families by providing: Competitive salaries Advantageous corporate agreements Full range of group insurance benefits Group retirement pension plan with employer contribution Purchase option of company stocks Group RRSP Health and wellness program in the workplace Assistance program for employees and their families Saputo products at a discounted price Saputo welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
