Responsibilities Operate various types of vehicles, including lorries, to manoeuvre them within the yard. Prior preparation of all curtain-sided trailers to be loaded, including visual inspection of the trailer, sweeping the trailer-bed floor, ensuring all restraint systems are fit for purpose, are correctly positioned & secured. Ensure trailers are correctly prepared to facilitate loading of the product to the trailer (straps positioned, curtains correctly positioned) Conduct regular checks on vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition and report any mechanical issues. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and delivery drivers to coordinate vehicle movements. Assist in loading and unloading goods as required, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Compliance with all operating procedures and safe systems of working. Preparation of trailer prior to offloading, removal and correct stowage of restraint systems and curtains. Maintain an organised and clean working environment within the yard. Follow all company procedures and regulations regarding vehicle operation and safety. Requirements Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred. Valid commercial driving licence with experience driving lorries is essential. Strong mechanical knowledge to identify potential issues with vehicles. Excellent communication skills to liaise with team members effectively. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and schedules as needed.
