Are you an IT enthusiast looking for a flexible, part-time opportunity that fits around your schedule? Our team is seeking an L1 Cloud Associate to help provide 24/7 coverage for incident management as part of our flagship Managed Service Operations (MSO).
This role is ideal for anyone looking to take on an additional challenge alongside their main responsibilities, while also providing opportunities to grow your cloud skills with variety and hands-on experience. Please note, this position is not intended as a full-time job.
Location:
We are seeking a remote team member to work shifts between 9 AM - 5 PM Central Standard Time (CST). This position is open to candidates worldwide.
Contract Type: This position requires contractor status. You must have the appropriate legal setup (e.g., a business license or equivalent) that allows you to invoice us for your services.
Compensation: $5 for stand-by (on-call) and $15 for actual work on ticket resolution (on-responsibility) per hour of work.
What Will You Do?
Remain ready and available to respond to phone calls, alerts, and customer requests during assigned shifts.
Maintain service-level agreements (SLAs) by swiftly acknowledging alerts and gathering initial incident data.
Triage and prioritize incidents based on severity.
Escalate complex issues to the core team or next-level support when necessary
Provide timely updates and essential monitoring information (from PagerDuty, Grafana, CloudWatch, etc.) to customers and team members.
Log all activities accurately to ensure transparency and facilitate knowledge sharing.
Follow defined processes and frameworks to maintain operational consistency.
What You Bring
Working experience with AWS fundamentals (e.g., EC2, S3, IAM, security best practices)
Working experience with monitoring and observability (metrics, logs, traces) using PagerDuty, Grafana, and CloudWatch
Working experience with Kubernetes (basic cluster operations, Pods, Deployments)
Strong incident management and troubleshooting skills (prioritizing alerts, meeting SLAs)
Effective communication in real-time (Slack) with both customers and internal teams
Adaptability to work across multiple (10+) unique customer environments
Contractor Requirement: Must have the legal setup to invoice for your services
