As an Environmental Scientist, Engineer, Geologist, or Technologist, you will join the Calgary, AB office as part of our Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation and Monitoring (ARRM) team. The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of projects with responsibilities as follows: Active participation in maintaining Montrose’s strong safety culture Act as a leader in the workplace using Montrose Standard Operating Safety and Technical Procedures Perform simple to complex contaminated site investigations including drilling assessments, groundwater monitoring, remediation activities, and reclamation activities involving: k-tests, elevation surveys, and sampling using a variety of methods (e.g., peristaltic pumps, hydrasleeves, bailers, etc.) Supervise a variety of drilling types in soil and bedrock (e.g., solid stem, hollow stem, and air rotary) and installing GW monitoring wells Supervise remedial excavations and trucking, confirmatory sampling, and operating remediation systems Supervise reclamation equipment and performing reclamation assessments on various land types Supervise and coordinate field contractors and equipment for a variety of projects Prepare for ground disturbance including submitting 1 Calls, reviewing ground disturbance packages, and supervising line locators and hydrovacs Collaborate with project managers and technical advisors and communicate project progress, execution, and scope changes Support and mentor junior professionals and provide on-the-job training in the field and office Learn, understand, and apply regulations related to assessment, remediation, and reclamation of oil and gas sites and ensure regulatory requirements are met as part of project execution This role will require approximately 80% of time in the field What We Are Looking For Minimum 4 years of previous experience working in the field on assessment, remediation, and reclamation projects A degree or technical diploma in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, or engineering Exhibit a strong safety mindset Self-motivated and possess strong communication skills Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior professionals Experience as a ground disturbance supervisor Familiarity with spill response would be considered an asset Eligibility for registration in or maintaining a good standing in a professional organization would be considered an asset A valid and clean driver’s license with no restrictions Why Choose Montrose?
