We are currently seeking a National Director of Projects & Construction to join our team in Saint John, NB.
As National Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient delivery of construction services, including managing bid processes, construction contracts, optimizing utilization, and workforce planning across Canada. This role involves supervising and working closely with regional managers who manage day-to-day operations to ensure high standards of customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and compliance with industry regulations. The Director will develop and implement strategies to optimize resource utilization, enhance service efficiency, optimize construction vehicle fleet , and drive continuous improvement.
The role has National responsibility with three (3) Regional Managers as indirect reports, and 130 technical staff spread over nine (9) branches across Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
Service Level Management:
Oversee and ensure high service levels across all regions.
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and strategies to maintain and improve service quality and operational efficiency.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and service metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Ensure the implementation of “Best in Class” safety practices
Workforce Planning:
Develop and execute workforce planning strategies to optimize resource utilization.
Collaborate with regional managers to ensure adequate staffing levels and efficient allocation of resources.
Analyze workforce data to forecast demand and plan for future staffing needs.
Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and performance of the service team.
Collaboration with Regional Managers:
Work closely with regional managers to support day-to-day operations and construction projects, to address any operational challenges.
Provide guidance and support to regional managers to ensure alignment with overall organizational goals.
Facilitate regular meetings with regional managers to review performance and discuss strategic initiatives.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
Lead initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
Financial Management:
Develop and manage strategic budgets for the service department.
Monitor financial performance and implement high-level cost-control measures.
Prepare and present comprehensive reports on the financial performance of the service department.
Strategic Planning:
Conduct high-level data analysis to identify trends and strategic opportunities for growth and improvement.
Develop and implement action plans based on strategic insights to drive performance enhancements.
Collaborate with other departments to align service operations with overall company objectives.
Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to drive innovation and improvement
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field is considered an asset.
Extensive experience in construction and service management, workforce planning, and operations, preferably in petroleum services or a related heavy industry.
Strong leadership and strategic management skills.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
