Description
The primary function of this job is to oversee and develop the nationwide sales team and policies related to all Company services (excluding finished products). Driving results through effective and creative leadership of the sales program at Baker is essential. This position will provide training, career development, coaching, and monitoring of all sales staff. Relationships with each division’s general manager and each location’s branch manager will be essential to creating and determining sales goals within each region’s footprint.

Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement new sales processes and policies for the company, including defining the individual roles of sales staff, transitioning them into their new roles, and coming up with a new compensation program for sales staff that leads to overall higher bottom line profits for the company
Manage the day-to-day duties of the nationwide sales team to ensure that they are following the established sales processes and policies for the company and achieving established goals
Work with the divisions on coming up with annual sales budgets for services based on operational constraints and approved pricing
Set quarterly and annual sales goals in collaboration with division needs by service type and production goals
Establish quantitative goals and metrics for the sales team and motivate the sales team to achieve these goals
Gather and monitor information on the markets and competitor products, prices and activities, and report this information back to the Pricing Committee
Review customer activity, anticipate needs and improve customer satisfaction
Have extensive knowledge of Baker’s service offerings and pricings around the country
Work with the National Accounts Center on National Customer Care needs
Work with the National Accounts Center to identify service areas outside of Baker’s direct service area to ensure Baker has SPN’s to provide service coverage for accounts
Advise on customer requests and needs to ensure our competitiveness
Assist and manage key accounts directly as needed
Work collaboratively with management and Corporate Procurement to develop new markets, products, equipment and services
Work with the Marketing / Public Relations team to ensure we have consistently branded materials to meet the sales team’s needs
Provide timely and effective solutions aligned with client needs
Perform market research to identify new potential customers and market opportunities
Negotiate and close agreements with customers to transfer over to account managers (located at the local, divisional and national levels)
Interact with others in a professional and ethical manner
Follow department and company procedures
Keep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this company
Other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the business. These responsibilities may change from time to time are business needs evolve over time.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Professional Certifications, Education, Experience and Travel Requirements
Proven work experience as a manager, director or VP of sales leading a team of at least 10 direct reports
Experience managing a high performing sales team
Knowledge of CRM software and the Microsoft Office suite
Ability to understand and analyze sales performance metrics
Solid customer service attitude with excellent negotiation skills
Ability to read, analyze and cooperate with Legal on agreements and language negotiations
Strong communication and management skills
Analytical skills with a problem-solving attitude
Availability to travel up to 40% of the time
Bachelor’s Degree in sales, business administration or a relevant field, MBA preferred
Physical Demands/Requirements
Constantly (over 2/3):
Operates computer and other office productivity machinery such as calculator, copy machine and printer.
Remain in a stationary position for 50% or more of the time
Review documents, organizes data and detects accuracy of information
Communicates with customers and co-workers and exchanges accurate information in-person, telephonically and via electronic devices/e-mail
Frequently (1/3-2/3):
Moves throughout office accessing files, office machinery, etc.
Occasionally (under 1/3):
Moves materials or documents up to 25 lb.
Travels to customer locations and moves throughout customer facilities such as kitchen and areas where grease collection occurs
