Your Role As a Gensler Design Manager, you will leverage your experience in design and project management, your attention to detail, and interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional client projects on time and on budget. What You Will Do Lead teams and clients in the development and execution of design projects for Workplace interiors Work with strategy and design leaders to prepare presentations, workshops, and related research and client interactions Be a self-driven leader of project process and team. Write and edit project communications such as scope and fee documents, meeting minutes, work plans, budgets and schedules Provide mentorship and technical guidance for your teams and other staff Coordinate vendor/consultant contributions to projects Develop strategies around new business opportunities including leading pursuits, creating proposals and leading client presentations Works on critical interiors projects with firmwide impact Understand key aspects of studio business and proactively develop ways to create better client engagements, people-centric approaches, and project efficiencies Possesses advanced analytical skills in addition to unique knowledge and expertise Take ownership of financial cycles by managing client follow-up, calendars, deadlines, meetings Oversight of innovative design strategies and unique brand concepts on multiple projects Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts Leads interaction with clients Creates networks and may serve as external spokesperson in area of expertise Your Qualifications 10+ years of related experience, managing projects and teams Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design or design-related field Highly organized and aware of how to use/create tools that support work efficiency Excellent verbal and written communication skills Totally client and team-oriented, knows how to balance demands for time and resources Strong understanding of, and ability to oversee, architectural and interior design package deliverables consistent with industry standards Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Photoshop, InDesign, and Sketchup is a plus Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices required. -Portfolios should include at least 1 project with this particular focus, and candidates should be prepared to talk to this in their interview, especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwell and /or Net Zero Building certification. *This is not a remote position. The successful candidate will be expected to live in, or relocate to, the area of the Vancouver, BC office upon acceptance.
