We currently have an opening for a R&D Project Coordinator. This role is based out of our office in Mississauga, Ontario. This role reports to the R&D Operations Manager. In this pivotal role, you'll coordinate and execute a variety of projects related to R&D, Stage Gate, and mold projects at our cutting-edge R&D Facility. You'll collaborate with diverse stakeholders to drive new projects forward, design 3D models, and oversee mold and extrusion trials, ensuring top-notch quality assurance. Additionally, you'll conduct product testing, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and create detailed work instructions for smooth transitions to the operations team. Your contributions will be essential to our continuous improvement and innovation efforts. This role offers a blend of hands-on and office work, providing a well-rounded experience. Join IPEX and help us keep the innovation flowing! Principal Responsibilities Support new R&D projects, including validation activities and mold and die testing. Liaise between R&D, Product Design, Innovation (AIM), CQPC, and the R&D Operations team. Design CAD models for R&D tooling and test fixtures and attend design reviews. Oversee mold teardown processes, molding and extrusion trials, and pilot blending. Collect product samples, conduct quality assurance and part inspections, and determine necessary mold modifications. Conduct product testing and oversee the creation and fabrication of test rigs. Prepare project update reports and schedule preventive maintenance and inspections. Participate in continuous improvement and 5S projects. Manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting target dates. Create work instructions for new procedures or technical processing requirements for hand-off to the operations team. Continuously monitor project risk and implement mitigation strategies. Qualifications & Experience Engineering or Technical Diploma with a Mechanical or Industrial engineering background. 5+ years of experience in the Plastics processing/Manufacturing industry. Experience in Injection Mold design and CNC programming using CAD/CAM software are assets. Proficient in 3D modeling software, preferably SolidWorks. Understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Intermediate knowledge of machine shop and machining practices. Experience using basic hand tools. Travel: Limited travel requirements.
