Administrative Assistant - Two Summer Positions

Position Summary
Under the direction of the manager of the department, the Administrative Assistant will have a supporting role in ensuring the smooth operation of administrative functions and supporting the manager and the team in their efforts to develop and implement impactful advocacy initiatives on behalf of First Nations. This position is designed for a high school student who is returning to school in September 2025.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to the office.
Help prepare and ensure timely distribution of appropriate materials and agenda items before meetings.
Help coordinate and prepare information packages for meetings, conferences and assemblies.
Help prepare financial travel and accommodation required for AMC meetings.
Respond to external and internal inquiries expediently, professionally, and tactfully.
Assist with the maintenance of an effective filing system.
Assist with the development of an online record-keeping system.
Assist with the management of calendars and making travel arrangements.
Assist with the completion of reports and financial data.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Must be a high school student returning to school in September 2025.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues through clear communication and teamwork.
Experience multi-tasking to meet the needs of projects and assignments.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Adherence to office practices, procedures, and confidentiality.
Ability to work flexible hours and travel upon request.
Successful candidates will be required to provide a Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check.
