Responsibilities A Neurophysiology Technologist is responsible for providing accurate, high quality neurodiagnostic testing. The Neurophysiology technologist II may be responsible for working in: EEG laboratory, inpatient and outpatient settings, performing all long-term monitoring (LTM) activities both invasive and non-invasive monitoring in the ICU/EMU settings, and MNS. May also be assigned to work with the IOM program supporting simple cases with progression/training to more complex cases, EMG laboratory performing NCV, EP and QST procedures and MNS with special training, or, Autonomic laboratory conducting Autonomic Studies (ARS)and Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD). This position may be required to provide support and work at the Mayo Clinic Phoenix and Scottsdale locations. This position may be required to participate in the EEG or IOM call rotation.
Qualifications Trainee
High School diploma or GED required. Associate's degree preferred. Prior related healthcare experience preferred. Current employee in the Mayo Clinic system preferred. Basic Life Support Certification (required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date) as well as maintenance of Basic Life Support (BLS) Competency. RNCST, REEGT, or CAP obtained within 24 months from date of hire.
Tech I
High school diploma or GED and completion of Mayo Clinic’s Neurotech Trainee program; Or, Formal NDT education and a minimum of one (1) year of Neurodiagnostics experience, which includes previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NTD education program; Or, Graduate from a CAAHEP accredited NDT program, and a minimum of one (1) year of Neurodiagnostics experience, which may include previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NTD education program; Or, Associate’s degree in Neurodiagnostics from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one (1) year of Neurodiagnostics experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span. Demonstrated ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date. Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) Competency. Must be registered in one of the following based upon scope of work: REEGT, RNCST, or CAP. For Associate’s degree candidates or formally educated candidates, designated registration must be obtained within 24 months from date of hire.
Tech II
High school diploma or GED required. Completion of formal NDT education from an educational institution in coordination with a hospital and three (3) years of Neurodiagnostics experience, which includes previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NTD education program; Or, Graduate from a CAAHEP accredited NDT program and three (3) years of Neurodiagnostics experience, which includes previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NTD education program; OR, Associate’s degree in Neurodiagnostics from an accredited college or university with three (3) years of experience in Neurodiagnostics, which includes previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NTD education program; OR, Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of three (3) years of Neurodiagnostics experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span Demonstrated ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs. Obtaining additional credentials is strongly encouraged and preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date. Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) Competency. Must be registered in one of the following based upon scope of work: REEGT, RNCST, CNCT, or CAP. For candidates that have an Associate’s degree or formally educated candidates, designated registration must be obtained within 24 months from date of hire. Possession of more than one credential is preferred.
Tech III
High school diploma or GED required. Completion of formal NDT education from an educational institution in coordination with a hospital and five (5) years of Neurodiagnostics experience, which includes previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NDT program; OR, Graduate from a CAAHEP accredited NDT program and five (5) years of Neurodiagnostics experience, which includes previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NDT program or formal NDT program; OR, Associate’s degree in a Neurosciences related field/subject from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of Neurodiagnostics experience, which includes previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NDT program or formal NDT program; OR, Bachelor’s degree in Neurosciences related field/subject from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of Neurodiagnostics experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span. Proven ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs. Obtaining additional credentials is strongly encouraged and preferred. Must be registered in one (1) of the following at time of hire: REEGT, RNCST, or CNIM*. Must be registered in one or more of the following advanced credentials depending upon area of focus at time of hire or obtain registration within 24 months from date of hire: CLTM, IOM, REPT, CAP. *If supporting the IONM program, and the candidate has a Bachelor's degree the advanced credential CNIM (e.g., NIMT) is required, with additional multi-credentials preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date. Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
