Our client, a major Canadian financial institution with a national presence and global reputation, is looking for a Technical Product Owner who's responsible for ensuring that one or more development teams (pods) deliver customer-focused product increments that generate organizational value. The role involves setting a clear product vision, managing the backlog, removing blockers, gathering customer feedback, and ensuring Agile best practices are followed. The Product Owner aligns closely with stakeholders across business and technology to drive strategy and maximize product value.

What You'll Do
Business Strategy & Product Vision
Define and continuously evolve the product roadmap aligned with the overall segment and enterprise strategy.
Analyze industry capabilities and customer needs to inform the product vision and strategy.
Communicate the product vision and strategy effectively to internal stakeholders and across the enterprise.
Ensure integration and alignment of product efforts with broader organizational goals.
Backlog Management
Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring it is groomed, prioritized, and aligned with strategic goals.
Provide clear direction and context to the development team (pod) through backlog refinement and sprint planning.
Make strategic decisions on feature prioritization and scope trade-offs.
Identify and remove blockers to ensure continuous delivery flow.
Value Delivery & Continuous Improvement
Collaborate with partner teams to ensure the product delivers measurable value.
Monitor and track customer feedback, performance metrics, and business outcomes.
Adjust product strategy and backlog priorities in response to changing business needs or feedback.
Promote a culture of innovation, iterative improvement, and Agile excellence.
Stakeholder Management
Engage with business, technology, and process stakeholders to gather input and manage expectations.
Foster alignment with other product owners and delivery teams to manage dependencies and drive cross-functional collaboration.
Proactively communicate product progress, risks, and opportunities to leadership and partners.
Requirements
What You Bring
Undergraduate degree and / or product certificate.
7+ years relevant experience.
3+ years Product Owner or Agile related delivery experience.
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification and project management experience considered an asset.
Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certifications or experience operating in scaled agile delivery considered an asset.
Strong understanding of Agile principles: transparency, collaboration, and customer-centric delivery.
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on backlog execution and delivery support.
Excellent communicator and influencer with both technical and business audiences.
