Job Description: Identify component parts that fail to meet OEM specifications Clearly document required scope of repairs and prepare documentation needed by Production, Materials Management and other staff Performing NDT inspection methods on ferrous and non-ferrous materials in accordance with OEM and CAT NDT specifications Accurately qualifying parts for re-use. In the event a part cannot be reused as is, document the specific salvage process and scope of needed repairs Qualifications: A minimum of 6 months working Wage Grade 7 or higher. Relevant & applicable external experience to the position will alternatively be considered. Preference given to those who fall within the value stream & qualify as defined in Schedule C Previous experience working on Powertrain components is an asset Training in magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, ultrasonic and other non-destructive test procedures is an asset Must be able to work independently efficiently as well as part of a team Ability to use and interpret SIS Web or any CAT related documentation Ability to use precision measuring tools and a high attention to detail are required Strong organizational skills/computer skills Ability to lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a safe manner in all aspects of the organizations policies and procedures Note: This posting is for a static day shift; Monday – Thursday, 10 hours per day Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement Applicants must apply with either an updated Professional Profile on Workday or attached resume to be considered Will require successful completion of drug and alcohol testing, a criminal background check, and a medical assessment Hourly Rate: $41.20 – 51.50 / Hour Union Membership: This is a unionized position.
