Park Paving Ltd. has been locally owned and operated for 50 years as one of the largest road construction contractors in Edmonton, and we are looking for an EXPERIENCED CIVIL UNDERGROUND FOREMAN to join our team. This is a full-time seasonal position that offers competitive wage with benefits.
Primary duties include overseeing the day-to-day coordination of a civil underground crew in the removal and placement of underground utilities as part of infrastructure construction and rehabilitation projects. You will be expected to mentor and monitor the performance of your crew, while also completing the required documentation and reporting associated with civil underground projects and crew supervision, (e.g. timesheets, site inspections & hazard assessments)
This is a physically demanding position that requires the ability to:
Work long hours, overtime, and consecutive days as required.
Must be able to perform all job duties in a wide range of (adverse) weather conditions.
Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, balance, and climb.
Exerting heavy physical effort (handling average weight objects up to 50lbs safely, perform labour activities).
Ability to operate equipment as required to complete the project
Additional duties are as follows:
Complete daily hazard assessment/toolbox meetings as required that focus on your daily planned scope of work.
Ability to evaluate and adjust work plan based on current ground conditions
Understand and utilize various shoring methods and safe excavation practices
Understand grades and general survey
Ensure sites are clean and properly maintained
Ensure tools are kept secure, clean, and in good working order
Understand and implement proper rigging techniques onsite
Ensure all work being performed by employees (including yourself) is in compliance with all legislation and company safe work policies and procedures
Delegate crew members to complete daily pre-equipment checks, checklists and preventative maintenance
Have full understanding/compliance of City specifications for the tasks you are completing
Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain professionalism even in high-pressure situations with other workers, consultants, or members of the public
Ability to read and understand drawings
Valid Class 5 Driver's license
Ability to operate equipment if required
Able to work outside in all weather conditions
Able to work Monday -Friday and when necessary overtime & weekends
Valid Ground Disturbance 201 Standard training (Alberta) is an asset
Valid Confined Space Monitor/Entry training is an asset

Pay Scale: $38 - $44 per hour based on experience
