Communicate effectively with customers when damages have occurredArrange for safety personnel to attend collision scenes Report all 3rd party collisions to our insurance company Maintain accurate, organized up to date Collision FilesFollow up on assigned Collision Files / ClaimsGo through manifests from trailers involved in collisions and enter comments. Maintaining excel spreadsheets for department,Advising appropriate internal Staff of damages and delays in shipments ·Review all collision documents to ensure they are completed accurately Daily review of Red book notes and opening accident filesFollow up on payments that should be receivedRunning of internal reportsOrganize contractors to quote and repair Property damages, Work with various departments to ensure accuracy of quotes received. Negotiate settlements with 3rd party owners for damagesReview and pay associated invoices up to your signing authorityComplete accurate final releases to be signed off by 3rd parties.Request needed documents through insurance search bureauArrange for Estimates and Appraisals to be completed Assist in salvage sale & disposalAssist in scheduling of repairsRecord costs associated with collisionsInvoice AuditingPreparation and review of Subrogation packages Ensure cost effective repairs are completed in a timely mannerReview and paying of freight claims as directedWork with Garage Foremans, Terminal Managers, Safety departments, Dispatchers dailySome travel may be required.Some external training will be provided as needed After hours duties may include but not be limited to the following:Arranging and dispatching of appropriate individuals to the collision scenes as definedEmergency Services, Reconstructionist, Engineers, Environmental Responders, Environmental Consultants, Ministry of Environment officers, Tow companies, Cargo recovery teams, Safety personal, mechanics, managers, Insurance adjusters, Advising Senior Management and Collision Group of Collision Status for major collisions that happen after hoursReport and follow up with Ministry of environment Report to Transport Canada any collisions involving Dangerous goodsFollow up with government agencies on Environmental cleanup and documentationDepartment ReliefOn Call evenings weekends and stats 24/7 when providing relief for Department staff during vacation or as needs arise determined by the Collision Manager. Compensation in place for on call shifts, company cell phone and laptop will be providedMust be able to Accurately complete these tasks in a timely manner. A sense of urgency in completing the above mentioned tasks is of utmost importance. There could be significant financial implications for failure to do so.
