The Opportunity
Inii Healing House (IHH) is a 24-hour post-detox, pre-treatment program under the Akoka’tssini Mental Wellness (AMW) portfolio. IHH houses up to 10 residents at a time. IHH incorporates Blackfoot ways of healing and a holistic approach to recovery. IHH is looking to expand its team by adding three full-time and two part-time Addiction Counsellors (ACs). The AC will be in daily contact with IHH residents. The AC will create and deliver evidence-based skills, educational workshops, and interventions, using a recovery-focused approach. The AC will support residents with one-on-one counselling and have the skills to facilitate group therapy sessions. The AC will help residents understand the local resources and community support available. The AC will assist with applications and referrals to the continuum of care model, positively impacting health and wellness outcomes. The AC will provide compassionate and empathetic services to all residents through a trauma-informed lens and a person-centered approach.
