Overview
Lafarge has an immediate opening for an experienced Labourer who will join our Fort McMurray RMX group.
Responsibilities:
Perform general construction labor to include plant clean-up and moving of materials by hand.
Operating motorized equipment including power tools, loaders, telehandlers
Work requires alert individuals with good balance and physical strength.
Perform general plant maintenance ie. Greasing and inspecting plant.
Work could but could be exposed to cold and heat, noise and dust.
Qualification
Education:
High school diploma
Preferred Experience:
Preference given to candidates with concrete construction labor work experience at meets or exceeds performance expectations.
Preference also given to those willing to learn and work in a team environment.
Compentencies & Attributes
Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds of material and up to 90 pounds of material with assistance, if requested.
Frequently walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching and climbing.
Frequent use of hand tools such as power tools, circular saws, hammers, nails, and bolts.
Valid driver’s license
Safety oriented
Able to lift 50 lbs.
Able to work in a fast-paced, high-production environment
Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed including weekends
Able to work unsupervised
Able to work well with others
Good communication skills
