What you’ll do:
Responsible for the oversight and management of the Hardware Department
Ensure adherence to brand and merchandising standards, marketing efforts, people and financial management, safety and asset protection.
Establish short-term strategies, goals, and objectives for the department in alignment with the strategic plan.
Responsible to ensure consistent and profitable operations with the goal of continually improving operations.
Ensure adherence to all regulations, Company, H&S, Loss Prevention policies and procedures.
Lead, coach, and develop team members and department leaders by providing ongoing direction, performance management, and training opportunities.
Monitor customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Retail and have:
Grade 12
At least 5 years’ experience in the HABS/Lumber department
3 – 5 years of supervisory experience in retail and/or customer service, with experience in construction / hardware / lumber preferred.
Have experience in sales and are comfortable making recommendations of products and services to customers.
Co-operative retail experience is an asset.
Experience working with a large team in a unionized setting.
Highly organized and innovative with excellent analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
Strong decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Honest, trustworthy, and results-oriented.
Computer skills and Microsoft knowledge (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
A valid driver’s license (Class 5 minimum)
Comfortable working with different types of operating equipment such as a pallet jack, walkie stacker, and till
Ability to perform physical tasks that are common to a retail Home Centre
