We are actively seeking an experienced Plant Operator to join our team at our Kakwa facility located 120 minutes southeast of Grande Prairie, AB. This experienced operations professional is responsible for performing routine surveillance and minor maintenance tasks to support plant operations. They possess a comprehensive understanding of safety protocols, plant equipment, and all operational areas. The role is key to ensuring optimal production efficiency while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and meeting product specifications. While operating procedures are well-defined, the role requires sound judgment in choosing appropriate work methods. The candidate may also be responsible for planning and coordinating activities with contractors or maintenance teams. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Maintain log books to ensure entries are legible, informative, and time stamped. Responsible for accurately issuing Safe Work Agreements in their assigned work area. Direct maintenance and ensure that the work is completed as per Strathcona procedures and work standards. Provide coaching and training to other employees. Provide responsible and effective leadership as may be required during emergency situations or maintenance situations. Participate in Emergency Response Plan (ERP) drills, as well as near miss, incident, and behavioral based safety program initiatives. Operate within Federal, Provincial, and Corporate Health, Safety, and Environment regulations & guidelines at all times. Provide creative solutions and effective problem solving of issues that arise within the plant environment i.e. troubleshooting, flagging deficiencies and recommending changes to current practices. Write, review, and revise Operations Procedures. Report deficiencies, initiate MOCs and enter work orders. Willing to train/work in all operating positions in the plant and field. Ensure all areas are kept clean to meet/exceed company standards. Committed to working in a team environment. Continue to learn new tasks and openly accept/give feed back. Continue to improve levels of competence and interpersonal skills. Represent the corporation in a respectful and courteous manner at all times. Use and learn computer software applicable to the facility. Minimum Education and Experience Required: Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of direct related experience in field operations Experience in sour gas plant process, refrigeration, as well mechanical, instrument & electrical experience is highly desired. Further to this, applicants are required to have current Power Engineering 4th class, or Process Fired Heater Operators ABSA certification as a minimum. Field operations background is also considered of value. Training: Mandatory safety training will be current.
