Job Description: We are currently recruiting for self-motivated individuals to fill the positions of Winery Cellar Hand based out of our production facility in Oliver, BC. This is an ideal position for someone who thrives in a team environment and enjoys keeping active and hands-on with their daily tasks. Our winery is a full-service operation from harvest through to final distribution; operating year-round and producing some of the industry’s most awarded wines. Fermentation management: Inoculations, nutrient additions, sampling, pump overs, punch downs, sugar monitoring, and digging out of fermenters. Cellar work: Barrel work, racking, product transfers, product blending, and product additions. Cellar sanitation: Tank & barrel cleaning, and general cleaning of facility and winery equipment. Follow all safety procedures as directed by standard operating procedures. Work order completion and compliance. Safe operation of cellar forklift and other winery equipment (training provided). Inventory control. Job Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent required. Strong commitment to quality with attention to detail. Candidate must be hands on, dependable, and self-starting. Good problem-solving abilities along with basic logistic skills required. Ability to be trained in confined space entry process and procedures. Knowledge of winery cellar operating procedures. Teamwork and customer service skills. Ability to work shift work including weekends. Ability to understand and perform mathematic calculations. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Maintain an organized work place. Ability to lift 55 lbs.
