Posting Close Date: 07/01/2025 The Canadian Operating Area Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) team has an opportunity for a Field Safety Advisor. The position will provide support to Ovintiv's Alberta Montney Production Operations groups. The position is based out of Grande Prairie, AB and has a work schedule of Monday to Friday with the first and third Friday of each month off. Responsibilities: provide day to day expertise, support and coaching on all EH&S matters provide proactive EH&S support to operations through inspections, meeting support, training, visible field leadership and education provide reactive support to operations through incident investigations, emergency response, visual safety leadership, analysis, etc. be the source of new ideas, creative approaches and sound solutions to EH&S challenges within the Operating Unit critical task hazard assessments such as CSE (confined space entry) documentation and support be a local champion of the Ovintiv EH&S management system and guide leaders and staff in their respective responsibilities related to the management system enhance and support the internal inspection and audit program for the Canadian Operating Area conduct scheduled internal checks and inspections to assess risk and internal control systems for safety, environment, regulatory, health compliance to Ovintiv's standards Qualifications: 5 or more years of EH&S experience with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the oil and gas industry knowledge of production operations and ability to evaluate risks through a risk assessment process self-motivated with the ability to make decisions based on sound, objective judgment, and a desire for thoroughness and diligence regarding supporting evidence for audit results strong interpersonal skills with the ability to act as a change agent to influence and facilitate business solutions ability to garner respect and trust by providing and accepting constructive feedback in a team environment able to work independently and in a team environment excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization working knowledge of environmental regulations and regulatory framework in Alberta understanding of Alberta OHS Legislation strong computer skills and working knowledge in Microsoft Office strong organizational and communication skills field travel/time is required TapRoot investigation training and a registered safety professional designation would be an asset Benefits: Ovintiv offers a competitive benefits package.
