Closing Date 2025-07-25 Job Title: Contract Performance Lead Location: Tesswood (but can be located across Sussex, Kent or Hampshire) Salary: up to £45,000 depending on experience Job Summary To manage the activities of MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation) based Operational service contracts, and work in collaboration with the wider Asset Maintenance function to evaluate the need to carry out the work using outside contractors against available internal resources. To manage the coordination, performance, and reporting of MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation) operational service contracts and framework agreements whilst ensuring the required levels of service & financial governance are met. Ensuring all planned works are being delivered in accordance to schedule and budget whilst ensuring improvement strategies and programmes are in place to enable Southern Water to enhance performance year on year. To manage change to existing contracts and establish new contracts within Frameworks, as required. To provide a single, clear and authoritative interface between Southern Water and the operational Contractors To manage and be accountable for the MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation) operational Contractor’s service to Southern Water To manage the operational contracts to ensure best value for Southern Water & compliance to budget. To act as Client Representative on operational contracts with ensuing delegated powers. Ensuring affective coordination, scheduling and planning is undertaking for planned and reactive maintenance tasks, with consideration for the most efficient delivery route in terms of cost and compliance To work collaboratively with Operational Managers and Field Performance Managers to understand new and changed business needs, including new legislation / regulatory requirements and changes in business strategy. To work collaboratively with Commercial / Category Managers and external account managers to develop strategies to drive continuous improvement. To seek procurement opportunity on contract renewal To assist in translating new business requirements and improvement strategies into required contract changes or new contracts. To ensure appropriate management information/reporting is produced in respect of operational contracts. To ensure full H&S compliance throughout all aspects of operational Contracts. Manage and monitor planned contracted spend (OPEX) Manage workflow process with contract planner ensuring applicable governance rules are adhered to To ensure company systems accurately reflect/report actual planned maintenance being carried out by contractors (Maximo & MTM Maintenance Task Manual) The post holder will be required to communicate across all areas of the Business and with external Contractors. A broad technical/operational knowledge together with contract management expertise is required. This experience will ensure Southern Water works effectively with its Contractors to support the business to achieve best value. Influencing, effective communication and negotiation skills are key elements of this role. Responsible for managing the initiative stream to deliver opex and/or capex efficiencies for the business in respect of contracted services.
