What We're Looking for
As Synctera rapidly expands, we are looking for a dynamic and strategic business development leader to drive and grow our partnerships. This role sits at the intersection of product, growth, go-to-market, and sales, and is instrumental in identifying and unlocking new opportunities that define our platform’s future.
You’ll thrive in this role if you’re skilled at building and scaling high-impact partnerships and love working in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Bonus points if you bring strong FinTech or payments experience. If you're a creative thinker, a clear communicator, and someone who naturally takes initiative, you’ll fit right in with our team.
What You’ll Do
Own strategic partnerships: Identify, negotiate, and close new partnerships that enhance Synctera’s platform capabilities and market position (e.g., processors, data providers, KYC/KYB vendors, card networks, and lending enablers)
Strengthen and scale existing relationships: Act as the primary relationship lead for our most critical partners, building trust, identifying expansion opportunities, and resolving issues with urgency and thoughtfulness
Shape platform strategy: Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Compliance, and GTM teams to define partnership needs, vet opportunities, and influence product roadmap decisions
Drive go-to-market initiatives: Partner with marketing to drive partner-driven campaigns and launches that accelerate customer adoption and reinforce Synctera’s competitive edge
Validate market needs: Proactively gather insights from customers, partners, and sales team to inform new product development and partnership strategies
Coordinate execution between our internal stakeholders and our partners
Design processes to improve operational execution for the business teams
What You’ll Bring
6+ years of business development experience in the technology, payments, or banking industries
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Strong negotiation skills and experience developing new business models and bespoke agreements
Strong knowledge of the FinTech and banking markets as well as their tech stacks
Ability to work independently in a complex, fast-paced environment
Superb communication skills; can traverse technical and non-technical audiences and concepts with ease
Ability to think through problems and develop solutions quickly as a phenomenal problem solver
Results-oriented, with a bias for action
Team player who loves to collaborate and bounce ideas off others; you understand that giving/receiving feedback is crucial in your development and growth
Nice to Have
Banking or FinTech industry experience
Experience working within a startup environment
Experience working in regulated markets and with U.S. banking regulations

The base salary for this full-time position (USD: $175,000-$210,000 CAD: $170,000-$205,000) is determined by role, level, and location. The range informed in this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across all US and Canadian locations. Within the range, individual pay will be determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, relevant training, and other factors.
