Guidewire Technical Lead
Exciting opportunity in the insurance industry for two experienced professionals to lead Guidewire Cloud development initiatives. This hybrid role based in Markham offers a strategic position within a global environment, focused on Policy Center, Integration Gateway, and cutting-edge API design in Guidewire Cloud.
What is in it for you:
• Salaried: $80-85 per hour.
• Incorporated Business Rate: $92-97 per hour.
• 6-month contract.
• Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
• Hybrid model – 3 days per week on-site, subject to change.
Responsibilities:
• Review software requirements efficiently.
• Build architectural diagrams and design documentation.
• Design screens, business rules, and workflow changes.
• Write, configure, package, and deploy software code.
• Establish and follow coding standards.
• Debug and unit test the code.
• Perform peer code reviews.
• Mentor junior resources.
• Collaborate in Agile development cycles using tools like Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence.
• Develop and integrate Guidewire Cloud APIs, ensuring secure, scalable, and event-driven functionality.
• Implement event-driven architecture using Guidewire App Events and Pub/Sub models.
• Utilize Guidewire Cloud Tools such as TeamCity, Bitbucket, DataDog, and Guidewire Home.
What you will need to succeed:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Guidewire Associate Certification.
• 10+ years of proven experience in Guidewire Application Development.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience with Guidewire Policy Center and Integration Gateway.
• 7+ years of experience developing RESTful APIs.
• 7+ years of experience coding in multiple programming languages such as Java, C#, and Python.
• Strong command of GOSU language and use of Guidewire tools and accelerators.
• Proficiency in designing and developing business database applications.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL, preferably Microsoft SQL Server and Transact SQL.
• Expertise in Guidewire Cloud APIs, including synchronous/asynchronous calls, OAuth 2.0, pagination, and error handling.
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architecture and App Events within Guidewire Cloud.
• Ability to reverse engineer products by reading code in other languages.
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies and related tooling (Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence).
• In-depth understanding of design thinking and customer-centric development.
• Experience creating modern web applications and designing Web APIs using REST/JSON.
• Nice to have: Guidewire Ace Certification (preferably Integration).
• Nice to have: Guidewire Billing Center configuration knowledge.
• Nice to have: Experience writing automated GUnit tests using Guidewire data builders.
