Role Overview
We're seeking a Business Development Representative to join our team. In this role, you'll work directly with the Chief Revenue Officer and play a key part in our growth strategy by identifying and generating new sales opportunities through strategic prospecting (Phone, Email, Social Media, Meeting Booking), marketing (Email Campaigns, Organize Webinars), and account management (Regular Account Reviews, Customer Service). Your primary responsibility will be to create a pipeline of potential opportunities and set up meetings and demonstrations with key decision-makers in sectors like higher education, galleries, libraries, archives, and museums (GLAM).
Key Responsibilities
Proactively generate leads through phone outreach, personalized email campaigns, social media, and networking within the existing community of Islandora users.
Research and qualify prospects—understand their current repository challenges, goals, and readiness to modernize.
Set and participate in discovery meetings.
Support the full sales lifecycle from prospecting through to closing opportunities.
Collaborate with our technical teams to align messaging and outreach strategies.
Maintain accurate records of all outreach, engagement, and lead status in our CRM (Salesforce).
Participate in sales meetings and learning sessions to stay current on our offerings and the evolving needs of the library and archives community.
Share insights and feedback to inform product positioning and future campaigns.
Ideal Candidate
Currently legally entitled to work in Canada. Strong preference for candidates based in PEI, Canada.
Experience in sales, lead generation, account management, or customer service.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with potential clients remotely.
Motivated and self-directed, with a strong desire to meet goals and grow professionally.
Organized, curious, and proactive in learning about our clients and services.
Familiarity with CRM systems or willingness to learn.
A passion for digital access, education, or cultural heritage is a plus.
