Job Description Summary The Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) Coordinator is a hybrid role that has an advanced clinical concentration and with administrative responsibilities for the Critical Care Department. Responsible for coordinating comprehensive, specialized care for advanced heart failure patients who are candidates for MCS therapy, and management of postoperative care for those implanted with MCS, as well as ongoing outpatient management of those with MCS in place. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing and two years’ work experience as a registered nurse. Prefer a minimum of 1-year clinical work experience in managing advanced heart failure patients. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013, with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to initiate education for BSN within two (2) years and complete within four (4) years of hire date. Employees are required to sign an agreement regarding the education requirement. An ability to establish cooperative working relationships with diverse groups and individuals, medical staff and other health care disciplines. Current BLS required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
