These individuals help businesses navigate complex tax regulations and optimise their tax positions. In specialised tax services at PwC, you will focus on providing tax advice and solutions to clients in complex and niche areas of taxation. This includes areas such as accounting methods, fixed-assets and research and development tax credits. Meaningful work you’ll be part of As a Director, you'll work with a team of professionals to help our clients with the preparation of their tax incentive claims. Engage directly with clients in heavy industrial environments such as mines, pulp and paper mills, sawmills, cement plants, refineries, oil and gas facilities, as well as biotech and pharmaceutical industries and similar manufacturing settings to understand their engineering processes and needs. Prepare and support SR&ED tax credit claims for clients, ensuring compliance with program requirements and optimizing claim outcomes. Stay current with SR&ED legislation, application policies, case law, and Canada Revenue Agency administrative practices to provide informed guidance to clients. Conduct thorough research and apply intellectual curiosity to continuously improve your understanding of the SR&ED program and its application in various industrial contexts. Facilitate detailed discussions with technical professionals to gather pertinent information necessary for accurate and comprehensive SR&ED claims. Leverage relationship development and networking skills to market SR&ED services and expand the client base, fostering strong client relationships. Deliver excellent client service by understanding diverse technologies and effectively communicating complex engineering concepts during client interactions. Collaborate effectively as part of a team (both nationally and regionally) while also managing independent tasks to ensure the successful completion of projects. Lead teams and coach/mentor junior staff. Utilize creative problem-solving abilities to identify SR&ED opportunities for clients and lead claim preparation and review engagements with skill and precision Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve Demonstrated enthusiasm for upskilling in the digital arena and a strategic understanding of emerging technology trends, with a proactive approach to integrating new tools and workflows at the organizational level. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Applied Science / Engineering, specializing in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline. Significant experience in SR&ED, including leading the preparation and successfully defending SR&ED claims at a senior level. A successful history in sales and high-level relationship management, driving strategic growth and maintaining robust client partnerships. Strong client-service ethos, with a leadership focus on delivering high-quality, timely, and profitable outcomes. Exceptional written and oral communication skills, combined with a director-level aptitude for intellectual curiosity and strategic creative problem-solving.
