Manager, IT Audit & Data Analytics
Lead high-impact data analytics and digital innovation in internal audit within the insurance sector. This hybrid Toronto-based role blends Python, SQL, Tableau, machine learning, and audit insights. Collaborate globally, influence senior stakeholders, and drive audit digitization and automation.
What is in it for you:
• Salaried: $48-52 per hour.
• Incorporated Business Rate: $55-60 per hour.
• 11-month contract.
• Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
• Hybrid schedule: daytime hours, 2 days in office
Responsibilities:
• Lead analytical project planning and execution for audit and advisory engagements.
• Scope and deliver analytics solutions to evaluate controls and business performance, including anomaly detection and risk indicators.
• Develop and execute data access plans in collaboration with IT and business stakeholders.
• Create proof-of-concept solutions for process automation, continuous auditing, and advanced analytics.
• Apply programming, statistics, machine learning, and data visualization techniques to drive deeper audit insights.
• Contribute to audit strategy development and continuously improve audit processes through digital innovation.
• Build a robust knowledgebase by documenting business processes, systems, contacts, and data sources.
• Design and deliver training curriculum in SQL, Python, and Tableau for auditors.
• Engage with senior audit leadership and analytics networks to drive awareness and adoption of analytics solutions.
What you will need to succeed:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in data analytics, with strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with Python data libraries including NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, and Scikit-learn.
• Strong data visualization skills using Tableau or Power BI.
• Demonstrated ability to apply descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analytics in audit or business contexts.
• Solid grasp of statistical techniques such as regression, clustering, and decision trees.
• Proven ability to communicate complex analytics through compelling visualizations and executive-level presentations.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively and influence in ambiguous environments.
• Advanced understanding of IT systems, data infrastructure, and internal controls.
• 2+ years of experience with NLP, LLMs, or generative AI, validated by a GitHub portfolio or equivalent.
• Familiarity with audit analytics tools (e.g., Arbutus, Alteryx, Dataiku, Archer) is a plus.
• Insurance or financial services experience is preferred.
