Description
Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance, the Corporate Controller will lead the global accounting operations and financial reporting function of Indero. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting rules, overseeing consolidation of multi-entity financial statements, implementing internal controls, managing audits, and supporting strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have CRO or life sciences experience, a deep understanding of revenue recognition under project-based models, and strong cross-border regulatory knowledge.
More specifically, the Corporate Controller must:
Oversee global accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll accounting, treasury, tax and fixed assets
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes
Keep the relationships with the external accounting firms in different countries of operations
Manage global consolidation across multiple subsidiaries and currencies
Implement and enforce accounting policies in compliance with the Canadian GAAP
Lead the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders
Coordinate annual external and internal audits and manage relationships with external auditors
Maintain and strengthen internal controls, including pre-SOX or equivalent frameworks
Partner with FP&A and Project Finance teams to ensure accuracy of project-based revenue recognition
Support ERP and system integrations related to financial workflows
Monitor cash flows, intercompany transactions, and transfer pricing policies
Supervise and mentor the accounting team across global locations
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
CPA, CA, or equivalent accounting designation
Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, including 3+ years in a controller or senior leadership role
Experience in the CRO, pharmaceutical, or clinical trials industry preferred
Strong knowledge of IFRS and Canadian GAAP, including multi-entity consolidations and foreign exchange impacts
Familiarity with revenue recognition in project-based or milestone-driven businesses
Proficient with ERP systems (e.g., Infor, ) and financial reporting tools
Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills. Human resources responsibilities such as hiring, training, retaining and performance management.
