Your Role on our Team: The Architectural Technologist, Summer & Fall Internship (6-month Term) is responsible for assisting in the production of working and contract drawings for the construction of new homes.
In this role, you will:
Set Job Files
Prepare plot plans
Make job-specific changes to working drawings
Distribute construction documents to sales estimating, construction, and trade partners
Complete design changes in CAD/Revit models
Conducts periodic site reviews for conformity to plans, applicable codes, and Minto standards, in coordination with MasterCare and Construction departments;
Distribute, track & report on milestone deliverables (i.e. 25% working drawing set, 50% permit set, etc.);
Coordinates truss, floor, mechanical, and structural engineering drawings
Maintains project filing system with current and up-to-date contract documents;
Assists in compiling and coordinating drawings and specifications in accordance with the tender documents;
Other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job, as requested by management.
We would like you to have:
Knowledge of the ABC (Alberta Building Code)
Knowledge of residential low-rise buildings systems/assemblies and construction methodologies
Ability to use AutoCAD (2020 or more recent) and Revit
Site and drafting experience will be considered an asset.
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Outlook
Use of the following tech tools would be considered an asset, Microsoft Project, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat
Knowledge of Energy Star and LEED is an asset
