The Opportunity : ApplyBoard is seeking a strategic and mission-driven Head of Commercial Partnerships to lead our global institution-facing efforts. This role is responsible for developing and executing the partner engagement strategy with institutions across all destinations. As the steward of our institutional relationships, you will oversee a cross-functional team responsible for sales, onboarding, retention, and revenue growth. You’ll be expected to elevate ApplyBoard’s value proposition with institutions while driving adoption of platform capabilities, differentiated services, and long-term strategic alignment. This is a high-impact leadership role that requires a blend of commercial acumen, operational rigor, team leadership, and an understanding of the international education ecosystem. Location: Canada (Kitchener or Ontario preferred) Reports to: Chief Commercial Officer Type: Full-time, Executive Leadership What you’ll be doing every day: Institution Partner Strategy & Growth Own the global institutional partner lifecycle – from acquisition and onboarding to retention and expansion. Develop and lead the partner sales strategy to grow ApplyBoard’s institutional footprint and increase revenue per institution. Segment partners by value and potential, and implement account tiering strategies to allocate resources effectively. Drive adoption of new value-added services. Sales & Account Management Leadership Lead and scale a high-performing team of partner sales managers and account executives across multiple destinations. Build structured cadences for forecasting, performance reviews, and growth planning. Maintain trusted relationships with top-tier institutional leaders and act as an executive sponsor where needed. Cross-functional Collaboration Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Legal, and Operations to evolve the ApplyBoard offering based on partner needs. Work closely with Destination Leaders to ensure institutional supply aligns with student demand. Represent the voice of institutions in strategic planning, pricing discussions, and service innovations. Performance Management & Operational Excellence Define and manage KPIs across partner acquisition, engagement, and revenue. Ensure best-in-class CRM usage, pipeline hygiene, and reporting discipline. Lead internal initiatives to reduce onboarding friction, improve partner satisfaction, and increase partner-driven enrollments. What you bring to the table: 10+ years of leadership experience in B2B sales, partnerships, or client services, ideally within international education, SaaS, or platform-based businesses. Proven experience owning a P&L or revenue target, with a track record of scaling account portfolios. Deep understanding of institutional partnership models in higher education or adjacent sectors. Exceptional leadership and coaching ability with experience managing distributed, multicultural teams. Strategic thinker with operational execution strength — capable of turning vision into structure, process, and performance. Highly analytical and data-driven, with the ability to make fast, smart decisions in dynamic environments. Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools, data dashboards, and partner lifecycle analytics. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and commercial negotiation skills.
