This role is primarily responsible for the timely, accurate, and efficient review of documentation provided in support of mortgage files in alignment with BVCU’s guidelines as well as, corresponding with brokers for any outstanding items.
Reporting to the Broker Division Leader, this role will assist the overall efficiency of our underwriting team, while mitigating fraud, and supporting maintaining BVCU’s established service level agreements to advance files through to funding. The Fulfilment Specialist will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational and time management skills, and outstanding communication.
Support Activities:
Support building strong relationships with mortgage brokers and related business partners
Conduct file reviews to ensure documentation is complete and accurate prior to funding, including all documents and conditions
Review and verify accuracy of all required documents using sound due diligence and in compliance with internal policies, guidelines, and procedures
Follow up with mortgage brokers for outstanding documents/conditions, ensuring each document is reviewed, complete, and accurate to satisfy the mortgage commitment conditions as required to bring files to broker complete
Collaborate and liaise with internal teams and external parties to bring files to successful completion
Conduct verbal verification of employment, ensuring that all proper due diligence is exercised
Identify and escalate documentation issues including potential fraud in a timely manner
Update internal daily reporting and tracking
Complete all month end reporting and send to appropriate stakeholders
Communicate with brokers to advise of all BVCU rate and procedure/program updates
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Minimum of grade 12 education is required
Minimum of a year of credit union experience; previous DNA and Valeyo experience is an asset
Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude
Organized and process-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work under high pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a keen eye for detail
Self-starter with the ability to work in team environment as well as independently
Ability to work with confidential information
THE FINE PRINT:
This full time position is on-site at our Sage Hill (Calgary) Branch
Working Hours: Monday – Friday 8:45 am to 5:15 pm
Must be bondable and have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
