Responsibilities: THE POSITION PCE is searching for a Community Relations Representative who will play a key role in ensuring that relationships with local communities are sustainable for PCE projects and operations. Based in the Fort St. John office and reporting to the Team Lead, Land & Systems, developing and maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders is the primary function. This consists of participating in community engagement initiatives, facilitating communication with the company and stakeholders and supporting community development projects aligned with our corporate values and objectives. Key Responsibilities Working with the team in the execution and maintenance of PCE’s Stakeholder Engagement Strategy while continuously improving PCE’s reputation in support of delivering business results. Provide support on strategic issues related to community relations and making recommendations for action. Support local community initiatives and community organizations while bridging the gap between the company and those impacted by PCE operations. Gain an understanding of PCE practices, policies, programs and agreements given the rapidly changing environment. While PCE’s current philosophy and practices have served the company well, community expectations around participation continue to increase, and it is critical to reassess continually the company’s programs and practices. Balance multiple and varied aspects of the role; the development of new relationships and partnerships, the maintenance and engagement of existing relationships, and developing lasting strategies to accomplish each. Provide support in the updating of ESG EO100TM and sustainability documents, monitoring commitments that guide the company and ensuring compliance. Monitor and report on community websites/social media/newsletters to stay informed of community activities, grievances, trends and potential risks to PCE’s development goals and reputation. Ability to travel to community locations within PCE’s operating areas and participate in appropriate and strategic community events. Provide support in employment initiatives including capacity building, through innovative approaches to challenges. Maintain accurate records and documentation of community meetings and track communications and engagement efforts using Borealis software program. Data management and reporting for volunteer events and nonprofit grants. Attend Social Investment Committee meetings to manage community investments initiatives in FSJ and surrounding area. Manage promotional items in FSJ. THE INDIVIDUAL This role is both exciting and challenging, suitable for a candidate who is eager to contribute to a growing organization. About You Works effectively with diverse, multi-disciplinary teams Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently with minimal supervision Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Exceptional time management skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively Quality presentation and strong public speaking skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Outstanding interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively as part of a team Works well under pressure, managing sensitive or controversial subjects with tact, kindness, and professionalism Proficient with work productivity software or similar writing and presentation software Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in public relations or related field A minimum of five (5) years related experience in Community Relations or equilivant role that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position Successful completion of course(s) in advertising, business administration, fundraising, public affairs, public speaking, or creative or technical writing Applied principles, methods and practices in design and implementation of public information, public affairs, community outreach, public involvement including participation and promotion of marketing activities Experience in company reputation management and overseeing time-sensitive projects and deadlines Demonstrated ability to speak face-to-face with community members Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite Valid driver’s license (required) APPLICATION PROCESS Be sure to address your cover letter to Team Lead, Land & Systems, indicating your interest in the position and how your experience meets or exceeds the qualifications.
