Director, Technology Transformation & Process Improvement Element is embarking on a Technology Modernization Journey starting with the Billing system and seeking to replace legacy technologies that support our core business functions. This role will be accountable for overseeing IT operations of our current core application technology stack. Having responsibilities for assisting in developing a roadmap, and executing transformation of legacy applications into modern, cloud-native applications. This role is a strategic hire, expected to lead the above effort and build a team within Element that will retain in-house knowledge of all new and old applications. Will continue to be responsible for implementing leading practices in Software development life cycle (implementation, operations, and optimization) for all responsible. Alongside, will serve as a leader in technology transformation, effectively managing the scope of projects, aligning them with our organizational goals, and maintaining clear communication with peers and leadership. In this role, you will: 50% Lead Element’s Mainframe modernization initiatives, ensuring alignment with business strategy Define and track business outcomes for digital initiatives, ensuring projects achieve measurable benefits and return on investment Work closely with IT leadership to ensure technology solutions align with business needs and operational goals Communicate project status, risks, and benefits to executive leadership and key stakeholders Act as a key liaison between leadership, business stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners to drive transformation efforts Responsible for the working with leadership & other stakeholders in making the business case for funding approvals Accountable for the execution & delivery of the responsible projects 30% Responsible for identifying process improvements and implementing them to improve the effectiveness of the team. and operational excellence Ensure the team follows established standards and best practices as part of the SDLC. Engage in lessons learned and continuous process improvement. Provide guidance and support to project teams in aligning business processes with IT solutions Manage relationships with external vendors such as (Ensono, TCS, Capgemini, AWS, Vertex etc.,) business users, consultants, and system integrators to ensure successful operations 10% Inspire, lead and grow the IT Core Systems team providing guidance and support to a team of IT professionals managing integrated core systems platform – both legacy and modern Lead by example and bias toward action - Not afraid of rolling up the sleeves and stepping into the hands-on work when needed; maintain high-level view while recognizing the need to work out details. Establish credibility throughout the organization by practicing the leadership principles of collaboration, exceling with partners, maintaining open communication, encouraging and inspiring staff. Effectively manage internal and external team collaboration and communication Efficiently manage the internal IT team by ensuring an equitable distribution of workload, promptly addressing concerns, and fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment Effectively handle the conflicts or workplace issues within the team Establishing a clear and effective standards for the team 10% Manage continuous improvements in legacy systems during interim period to support business needs Engage in lessons learned and continuous process improvement. Support initiatives in the finance area and other peer departments within the same org Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science or related fields. 8-10 years of progressive hands-on experience in software development and application support within Mainframe or java environments. At least 3+ years of proven experience in leading large, cross-functional & cross platform technical teams. Proven experience developing mainframe modernization strategies, including rehosting, re platforming, and refactoring. Proven experience in successful execution of large technology transformation programs Experience communicating Software Development related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical audiences; will have to be an articulate and persuasive leader who can serve as an effective member of the senior leadership team Relevant experience in collaborating and managing vendor IT teams. Skills in assessing current systems and identifying opportunities for improvement and modernization. Ability to develop and execute a comprehensive mainframe modernization roadmap. Experience in Fleet management business or financial application Certifications on AWS / other cloud technologies Background in SAP Knowledge & Competencies: Technical Expertise: Knowledge of mainframe systems and cloud technologies, with hands on expertise in at least one. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal and collaborative skills; and the ability to communicate finance systems related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences. Team Leader – Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals. Project management skills; financial/budget management, scheduling and resource management. The hiring base salary range for this position is $162,700 - $223,700 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data.
