Job Description Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operation of all plant systems and equipment. Including but not limited to pumps, air-lines, valves, electrical motors, forklifts, extractors and wheel loaders. This position must respond to all system failures by taking appropriate corrective action by completing or assigning the repairs needed to ensure that systems are operational and are functioning safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities: · Performs repairs in accordance with Company Safety and OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) requirements · Performs preventive maintenance inspection (PM); diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment/components · Plan and achieve maintenance goals and objectives · Develop and maintain files such as: equipment lists, suppliers list, operating, maintenance manuals, purchase orders, drawings, checklists, spare parts lists, corrective maintenance details, maintenance history · Establishes and adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules and advises leadership if additional work is needed or cannot be completed within the standard repair times · Provide ongoing maintenance support to the plant for all shifts. This includes evaluating and determining the course of action for maintenance incidents after hours and on weekends while on call and may require on-site supervision of the resolution to maintain operational efficiency. · Inspects the quality of third-party repairs and or rebuilds · Supervises third -party contractors and ensures their compliance with company rules and regulations. · Recommends measures to improve production, equipment performance and product quality · Work closely with production and other departments in developing the work schedules including the coordination of all maintenance activities for efficient flow of operations. · Safely operates tools and equipment needed during the repair and servicing of equipment Diagnose defects and repair a variety of equipment · Estimate time and materials required to perform major repairs · Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns · Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures Perform other job-related duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Key Competencies: · Three (3) or more years of demonstrable mechanical experience · Experience and strong knowledge of equipment such as pumps, front end loader and forklifts · Waste transfer plant experience would be an asset · First Aid/CPR TRAINING would be an asset · AZ/ DZ license in an asset · Knowledge able about WHMIS · Demonstrates effective communication skills · Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include nights and weekends to support operations and the needs of the facility · Works under minimal supervision.
