In this role you will participate in the engineering design, planning, and field services for municipal infrastructure, roadway and drainage, and highway projects in southwestern Ontario. You will work closely with our local team of professional and technical staff in the delivery of design and construction projects for various public and private-sector clients. We are committed to providing you with on-the-job training and mentoring in a supportive team atmosphere. Primary responsibilities Assist the design lead in the preparation of CAD drawings Assist in carrying out technical tasks requiring accuracy in calculations, completeness of data and adherence to prescribed methods Assist in preparing preliminary and detailed design calculations, drawings using industry-standard software and methods Assist in the preparation of technical reports and presentations related to current or prospective projects Assist in the preparation of stakeholder consultation material and presentation QualificationsStudent currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering Technology Degree Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships and have demonstrated teamwork skills Knowledge of the municipal, provincial, and national guidelines and manuals, including Ontario Traffic Manuals, MUTCDC, Highway Safety Manual, and different TAC guidelines is an asset Strong Microsoft Office suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) A valid Ontario driver’s license Access to a vehicle The salary for this position ranges from $21.00 to $23.50 per hour, depending on your academic profile, the number of credits earned, and your previous co-op or internship experience. The final offer and salary may be adjusted based on your unique profile.
