CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR
Landmark Solutions Ltd. (Landmark) is currently looking to add an experienced and dedicated Construction Supervisor to our team, with the opportunity to grow your career within our Construction and other sectors of the Landmark business. Ideal applicants should have a Journeyman certificate or undergraduate/engineering degree. A minimum of 5 years supervisory experience is required.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Construction Supervisor is an integral part of the Landmark team and will work closely and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This key role will oversee and manage daily on-site operations for our projects. In this role, you will coordinate with project teams to ensure safety compliance, maintain quality standards, and keep projects on schedule. This position is based in Salmon Arm, but there is out-of-town work required in support of the ongoing projects. Duties and Skills include but are not limited to:
Duties and Responsibilities
Works under the direction of the Operations Manager as well as working alongside the Project Manager to ensure implementation of the Landmark Health and Safety Management Program and other Landmark systems to make the construction project a success.
Supervise, direct, mentor, and train the Construction team including performance evaluations.
Effectively communicate with the Landmark team and subcontractors to ensure the construction projects performance, productivity, quality, and safety requirements are met.
Consistently collaborate with the Project Manager or project team to meet the project objectives.
Proactively manage and mitigate potential problems, work interferences, and schedule conflicts or setbacks.
Maintain effective communication between on-site field personnel, project manager, and/or subcontractors to ensure construction complies with project deliverables that meet drawings and specifications.
Maintain effective communication with client contacts and Landmark support staff.
Visualize the entire project. Plan and maintain a project schedule that identifies the critical path and anticipates constructability issues. Work with Project Manager to identify and resolve critical path issues or constructability concerns.
Develop, implement, and update the Project Execution Plan as well as provide information to support the Project Manager to complete the resource-loaded rolling three-week lookahead construction schedule.
Execute the project plan and schedule and ensure compliance with budget, quality, and Landmark protocol.
Review and understand the contract and subcontracts and develop work plans that identify and mitigate risks while maximizing opportunities to ensure that budgets and forecasts are met.
Maintain project administration correspondence and comply with Landmark reporting requirements.
Develop and maintain strong customer and supplier focused relationships.
Effective interaction with all Landmark personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site client representatives.
Maintain contract drawings, and accurate site records, and fully understand contract specifications.
Procurement of construction materials as required for the project.
Job Requirements and Skills
Be an effective and diplomatic communicator.
Have successfully supervised and managed a construction workforce in the execution of construction projects that include any or of the following: instream creek rehabilitation work, heavy civil earth works, dam or dike works, road construction, municipal storm, or sewer.
In-depth knowledge of and experience in the construction industry and company operations, including building materials, construction specifications, and methods and procedures.
Understanding of project scope and ability to apply construction principles and embed solutions in construction plans and schedules.
Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
Ability to read plans and drawings with close attention to detail while identifying issues or concerns to be addressed by the Project Manager.
Proficient understanding of and ability to apply logic to the construction schedule to build a cost-effective workplan.
Ability to coordinate multiple scopes of a construction project, including scheduling, monitoring, and coordinating forces work and subcontractors with three-week lookahead schedules.
Thorough understanding of contract language with the ability to identify and mitigate risks and identify and leverage opportunities to make the construction project a success.
In-depth knowledge of and application of safety and environmental principles, procedures, and federal/provincial/municipal legislation.
Ability to lead and run effective site meetings with the Landmark workforce and subcontractors; ability to present at client meetings as required.
Demonstrated conflict-resolution skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional judgment.
Directly manage and resolve any on site human resource and public interaction issues.
Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and internal operational systems.
Working knowledge of MMCD and CCDC standard Contracts is an asset.
Must be willing to travel and work overtime as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Preferably, applicants will have a Journeyman certificate or undergraduate/engineering degree.
A minimum of 5 years supervisory experience is required.
Other combinations of experience and education will be considered.
Valid Drivers licence with a clean driving record is required.
