Legal Assistant – Litigation

Responsibilities:
• Proactively support professionals in managing and following up on litigation files.
• Coordinate calendars: appointments, hearings, events, committees.
• Ensure deadlines are met and follow up on files and deliverables.
• Prepare standard litigation documents: procedure binders, exhibits, authorities.
• Transcribe dictations and proofread documents.
• Make professional follow-up calls and reminders to clients.
• Perform various administrative tasks: billing, time entries, expense reports, filing, etc.
What you will need to succeed:
• Diploma in secretarial studies, legal secretarial studies, or equivalent training.
• 3 years of experience in legal secretarial work – litigation required.
• Strong command of litigation procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word (advanced), Outlook, and Excel.
• Knowledge of Maître and iManage Work 10 software (an asset).
• Bilingual in English and French to assist clients in both languages.
• Discretion, courtesy, professionalism, organizational skills, and ability to manage priorities.
• Team spirit, initiative, attention to detail.
