The company is seeking a capable and motivated full-time Fund Accountant. The role:
As a Fund Accountant, you will be an integral member of the Finance and Accounting team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Manage investor-related inquiries, working papers, and calculations
Assist in coordinating investor subscriptions, redemptions and distributions
Accurate maintenance and reconciliation of internal working papers
Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for month end close
Assist with the preparation of monthly management reports and financial statements
Approve loan funding requests and verify commission calculations
Support cash management and treasury functions (monitoring balances, completing transfers, and authorizing transactions)
Complete annual external audits including assigned schedules and working papers
Assist in financial analysis as required
Additional projects and ad-hoc work as assigned
Required experience, knowledge, and skills:
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail, work ethic and analytical capabilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven success working both independently and as part of a team
Comprehensive computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and Google Apps
Hands-on experience with accounting software
Meaningful education in accounting and/or finance
Minimum 5 years of prior accounting experience, CPA/CFA a strong asset
