As a Construction Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and compliance of construction activities on municipal construction projects.Primary Responsibilities:Engineering site inspection on municipal construction projects for quality control and adherence with applicable provincial standards, engineering design and technical speci?cationsDocument construction site activities (keeping a detailed daily report log, taking photos, performing survey checks, and recording as-built conditions) and identify and monitor de?cienciesProvide problem resolution and ?eld solutions with respect to unforeseen construction issues and participate in construction progress meetingsArrange on-site geotechnical investigations and material testing (for concrete, granular materials, and asphalt) and coordinate with Engineering for specialist inspectionsEnsure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act on construction sites with authority to issue stop work orders; ensure proper Ministry and project procedures are followed to ensure public/pedestrian safetyLiaise with clients, regulatory inspectors, various utility companies, residents, and other stakeholders as requiredQualificationsMinimum 5 years of related experience in municipal/civil engineering construction, with direct experience in linear infrastructureEffective communicator possessing demonstrated skills in dealing with other staff, contractors, and the public, in matters arising from construction projectsAbility to interpret construction drawings and specificationsMTO Class ‘G’ driver’s license in good standing and access to a personnel vehicleWorking knowledge of the Occupation Health and Safety Act and its Regulations, and Ontario Provincial Standards and Speci?cations (OPSS) for Municipal projectsDemonstrated skills in the use of computer utilizing programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, etc.)AutoCAD (asset)RCSI designation an assetAt CIMA+, we value diversity of talent and perspective.
