The Role: Our Membership Marketing Manager is responsible for creating and executing marketing strategies aimed at growing and retaining a membership base while ensuring high performance across key marketing metrics. This role focuses not only on attracting new members but also on optimizing existing membership engagement and loyalty. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to lead innovative growth initiatives, develop and execute cutting-edge marketing campaigns, and leverage data to drive measurable results. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize digital channels, experiment with new growth tactics, and continually refine our marketing approach. Using your strategic thinking you will shape and lead a cross functional team and deliver comprehensive marketing campaigns, you’ll use your marketing acumen, and data-driven approach to ensure our campaigns resonate with Albertans at every life stage. What you’ll do: Membership Growth Strategy: Develop and implement strategies for acquiring new members across a comprehensive channel mix and varying tactics, utilizing data analytics to track member acquisition trends and identify areas for improvement. Performance Metrics and Reporting: Monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) such as member acquisition rates aligned to growth targets, Engagement Rates, Retention, Churn and LTVs, using your analytical capabilities make real time adjustments to the strategy and tactics based on results. Campaign Development and Management: Take ownership of the full campaign lifecycle—from conceptualization to execution—ensuring every campaign is delivered on time and within budget. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with P&L owners, Operations, creative, digital media buying team and peers across the association to ensure the membership program aligns with the company’s broader strategic goals. Provide input into product development or service offerings that may enhance the membership experience. Budget Management: Oversee budgets for marketing activities related to membership growth and retention. Optimize spending to get the best return on investment (ROI). Leadership: Foster learning, excellence, and a performance-based mindset, by being authentic and accessible, carving time to connect with others to learn and listen, while providing constructive and clear feedback Optimization & Testing: Regularly analyze performance across all channels (digital, social, email, paid media) and implement A/B testing and other optimization strategies to improve results continuously and create reporting to present internally on performance. Market Research & Trendspotting: Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activities, and evolving consumer preferences to identify new growth opportunities and keep our marketing strategies innovative and relevant. Retention and Engagement: Develop programs that encourage existing members to remain active, renew memberships, and engage with the brand. Create targeted communication strategies that keep members informed, involved, and excited about the membership. What You Bring: Excellent communication skills, whether it’s creating an engaging campaign or leading a strategic performance meeting, you communicate effectively at all levels. A creative and strategic thinker who is always looking for new ways to break through the noise and reach the right customers, with fresh out of the box ideas Strong project management skills, while meeting deadlines and juggling multiple priorities. Strong analytical skills and a results-oriented mindset, with experience optimizing campaigns based on performance metrics, and adjusting strategies accordingly. Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Proven experience in creating and executing comprehensive marketing strategies, both online and offline. Expertise in multi-channel marketing, including email, SEO/SEM, paid digital advertising, social media and OOH. An understanding of the latest digital marketing tools, trends, and technologies to help drive business forward. Minimum of 5 years of experience leading high-performing and engaged marketing teams.
