As part of an amazing network of 100 Road Assist team members, you'll share your genuine passion for helping others by providing friendly and professional roadside mechanical assistance or towing services to members of BCAA and affiliated clubs. We are currently looking for a Regular Full-Time Road Assist Fleet & Automotive Technician in our Victoria, BC region! As a Road Assist Fleet & Automotive Technician, you’ll provide expert mechanical assistance and towing services to BCAA members and affiliated clubs across BC. You’ll work a variety of 24/7 shifts, with rolling 37.5-hour workweeks consisting of 8 to 11.25-hour shifts, scheduled one month in advance while in our ‘relief pool’, and moving to a fixed shift schedule once integrated into our ‘shift pick pool’. In addition to roadside service, you’ll support our Victoria Auto Service Centre during vacation coverage and periods of lower roadside call volumes. What you'll do: Be the first point of contact for Members needing roadside assistance, responding quickly to requests for minor mechanical help such as battery replacement, battery boost, tire changes, lockout service, towing, and supplying fuel. Conduct thorough diagnostic assessments on-site to identify vehicle issues and provide effective, timely solutions. Perform high-quality automotive repairs and maintenance tasks right at the roadside, ensuring safety and reliability for our Members. Assist Members in all weather conditions, maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude throughout the assistance process. Promote BCAA memberships and share information about our affiliate products and services during Member interactions. Take initiative to report and resolve any issues encountered, collaborating with your team as needed. Work a rotational 24/7 shift schedule, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays. Support our Auto Service Centres by performing mechanical repairs such as oil changes, tire swaps, and general maintenance, maintaining BCAA’s high standards for safety and service. Safely move vehicles around the shop and service bays when the need arises. Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace that aligns with environmental and operational policies. Stay updated on vehicle technology advancements to continually improve your skills. Collaborate with the Service Manager and Auto Service team members to ensure seamless service for our Members. Assist and mentor apprentices and lube technicians to help ensure repairs are accurate and complete. What you bring: You’ve completed your high school diploma. You hold a Red Seal Certification. You bring at least 5 years of hands-on automotive repair and diagnostics experience, including a minimum of 3 years as a Journeyperson technician. You have a clean BC Driver’s License Class 5 and are a confident driver. You’re skilled at navigating cities and towns while operating various vehicles, including 5-ton trucks, tow trucks, and pickups. You can safely lift at least 70 lbs during Member service, always prioritizing safety. You’re tech-savvy and comfortable navigating MS Office tools like Outlook and Teams. The salary range for this position is $66,515.04 to $83,143.80 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 9%.
